What is Insomnia?
According to the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, insomnia is the most common sleep complaint, characterized by either difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep, or waking up too early without being able to fall back asleep. It often leads to daytime tiredness or other symptoms related to sleep troubles.
The causes, symptoms, and severity of insomnia vary from person to person, making a proper diagnosis and individualized treatment plan essential. There are four distinct types of insomnia, including sleep onset insomnia (with two subtypes), sleep maintenance insomnia, early morning awakenings, and sleep fragmentation.
Effective treatment can only be implemented once a correct diagnosis is made. Our clinicians are trained and experienced in diagnosing and treating insomnia, ensuring that patients receive the most appropriate and effective treatment for their unique needs.
